Early April we celebrated the Day of Transition Practise 2025 – and what a Day!
We enjoyed the connections and synergies amongst more than 30 speakers and around 300 participants throughout the 15 sessions… Plus all the heartful work of the interpreters, language weavers, social media DoTP25 reporters, and the organising team…
It was incredible to see the depth of work happening across the broader Transition movement. Thank you so much for being part of this!
Below you will find a reminder of the programme and the session recordings. Digest the richness of these lessons and stories at your own leasure. Enjoy!

The sessions
Choose from the wide range of insipring sessions below
We started with Hidenori Tanaka (Japan), learning Strategies for Natural Disasters, diving deeper into community strenght and mutual support in the face of these more frequent climate events. Presentation slides available here.

This strong energy literally invited us to Move and shake together with Karina Avakyan (Portugal), incorporating the body on this first stage of the Day.

After that, we gathered informally at the Transition Café to meet likehearted people and shared about topics that felt alive at the time (such as accessibility, youth in Transition, and more) – that session wasn't recorded intentionally.
Then, at the session What's buzzing in TNi? we could hear from Hanyun Xu (China) about People of Transition project – don't hesitate to contact her to participate!; Eva Schonveld (Scotland) and Anahí Bea Pacheco (Chile) talked about the Cultural Transformation game in development; and Esther Molina (Spain) shared very exciting news from Transition Network international Communications team – new website, branding and more!

We could listen to the Heartbeat of the Movement thanks to Zsanna Sebesteny (France), Renata Nacif (Brazil), Kornelia Senzenberger (Austria) and Juliana Maria Medina Figueroa (Colombia), who shared four glimpses from four different territories, each telling a compelling story of positive change. Zsanna' slides are available here. Kornelia' slides are available here.

Later, the power of arts and imagination in envisioning alternative and desirable futures was alive in the room and we were fascinated by James McKay's work at Drawing the Future Together.

These alternative futures couldn't exist without properly organising and distributing power – Ted Rau (Colombia), Filipa Pimentel (Belgium) and Roberto Spano (Mexico) shared about Sociocracy as a Practice that can support us in shaping a just and regenerative future.

We experimented with Traveling to the Future in community, to gather insights for the journey ahead, guided by Ora Wand (France) and Don Hall (USA).

With renewed forces, the Heartbeat of the Movement (Abya Yala) was strongly heard again from other places of the planet. We could connect with Gabriela Montenegro (Brazil), Silvana Jakubiak (Argentina) and Edgar Gainko Ruiz (Mexico) to get to know about diverse learning communities and their practices.
To close this amazing Day, our friends Andrea Mumay (Colombia) and Anahí Beatriz Pacheco (Chile), held a community ancestral Word weaving circle – this session wasn't recorded intentionally.
