This practice seeks to create a space in which to collectively shape a future that reflects our common values and aspirations.

These sessions serve as a pivotal moment in the journey towards a sustainable and inclusive future. In Goal 2050 The Great Gathering we gather as Kin —citizens, change-makers, and visionaries— to collaborate, share ideas and explore actionable steps for creating the future we want. Through interactive discussions, creative exercises and collective insight, we align our visions and develop concrete plans for global impact.

Some ideas to practise The Great Gathering

This practice is a process of vision and imagination, looking at the disconnections and imbalance humans have created. Then, walking up the path, towards the future, this collective process invites us to envision how we are going to achieve more cooperative and regenerative futures. In other words, the world we want and are working to realize in the Transition Movement.

This narrative building is intertwined with meditation and visioning processes that help groups to weave the unique wisdom of each individual into a shared vision. The path of this vision really invites us to set up the steps of this achievement, specifically through small and whole group engagement, facilitated by a guide.

One way to practise The Great Gathering is by creating spaces where transitioners can regain trust in the future and their ability to contribute to the collective agenda of action. Bringing Kins together—citizens, change-makers, and visionaries—allows them to share common goals and purposes worldwide. Through interactive discussions and collective insight, we can align our visions and develop concrete plans for global impact. Small and whole group engagement, guided by facilitators, helps shape the steps needed to achieve a cooperative and regenerative future.

Another idea is to integrate narrative-building with meditation and visioning exercises, helping groups weave the unique wisdom of each individual into a shared vision. A strong community has already been forming around this practice, with kins actively building their visions through the kintribe network. In Europe and West Africa, circles of Kins gather regularly, both virtually and physically, to continue exchanging and actioning the visions that emerged through this process. These ongoing connections strengthen our collective capacity to shape the future we want.

A community has been building for more than one year around this practice and now we have kins (members) that are actively building their vision, with the help of the kintribe network.

Also, there is a circle of kins in Europe and West Africa that gather, both virtually and physically, every few weeks to continue exchanging and actioning the visions that came up when they initially went through this practice.

Join the events

Every first week of the month we hold a specific webinar on a Transition Practice with a guest. On the third Tuesday of each month there is a collective wisdom sharing space. We align the theme of the webinars and the sharing space each month. The webinars take the form of workshops led by individual facilitators, while the Collective Wisdom space functions as an open space where everyone can share their learnings and experiences, from their unique contexts. This space encourages discussion and connection with others in the wider Transition movement. These two spaces complement each other and each can be attended as a one-off event.
