The Cultural Transformation game offers Transitioners a shared, spacious practice for coming together with depth, care, and curiosity. It invites us to open our hearts, heads, and hands to listen more fully to one another, to ourselves, and to what is trying to emerge in our communities. Through the process, participants often find themselves sensing into new versions of who they are and who they might become together, individually and collectively.
How the Cultural Transformation Game supports Transitioners
The practice takes the form of a facilitated game played over three rounds of deep listening in small circles. Rather than aiming for fixed outcomes, the game invites mystery and surprise, allowing them to become part of the “birth channel” through which healthier, more caring human cultures can begin to emerge. At the heart of the game is an exploration of more than 100 cultural concepts, such as education, gender, power, love, and belonging, which act as doorways into personal and collective reflection.
In the first round, the group chooses one concept to focus on, and participants take turns sharing their lived experience of it, drawing from their personal lives and/or their community contexts. In the second round, a dice introduces a particular lens—Body, Emotion, Mind, Spirit/Soul, one’s truth in the moment, or messages received in childhood—inviting participants to revisit the same concept from a different angle and deepen their understanding. By the third round, having heard a rich tapestry of perspectives, participants are invited to reflect on a change they would like to make in relation to this concept, whether small and personal or larger and communal.

The game typically unfolds over around 2.5 hours with a group of six to eight people, guided by a facilitator who supports the container and flow of the process. Looking ahead, the creators are working towards offering a free, downloadable version of the game in multiple languages, so that it can be played and adapted within local communities around the world.
The Cultural Transformation game is grounded in over six years of experience working with deep listening and decolonisation circles. Its creators, Eva and Anahí, spent more than a year piloting and refining the game with Transition Hubs, both online and on the land, integrating feedback along the way. Participants consistently report valuing the depth of connection, the fresh perspectives gained, and the sense of possibility the game opens for personal and cultural transformation.
Join the events
During the first week of each month, there is a webinar on a Transition Practice led by a guest facilitator, designed as an interactive workshop to explore a specific approach or tool in depth.
During the third week, this month on Monday, March 16, from 14:30–16:00 UTC, we will hold a Collective Wisdom space, which functions as an open space where everyone can share their learnings and experiences, from their unique contexts. This month the cultural concept that will be explored is Transformation & Rebirth.
